Busyness drift away our soul from God.

This morning devotion talk about the following passage Luke 10:38-42

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

This passage remind us that we often get distracted very easily, busy with our work, task after task, routine and etc. Without our conscious it also drift away our priority. Somehow based on my experience, sometimes we ourselves that keep ourselves busy, in order to look important, dilligent, good, smart and etc. Hence, we often say no time for pray, fellowship and especially a quite time with God.

If we look back what all the activities and busyness are for? sometimes end up with nothing. Maybe we need to give some thoughts and re-arrange our priority, but the most of all put God in the first place. He only asked us to have sometime with Him, may be only 30 minutes or 15 minutes per day. If we calculated one day 24 hours, amounted for 1440 minutes, then we spent 30 minutes out of 1440 minutes. It is only 2% of our total time per day. Is that too much?

This message is also a warning for me, to slow down a little, put aside worriness and quiet listen to Him.
