My birthday gift.

The same as last year I didn't have chance to bother about my birthday, because I was on the way from my home town to Jakarta. Then yesterday I just received a bonus from office. Hmm, although my birthday was ten days ago, I felt like got a birthday gift hehe.. the office give away two millions rups voucher, which we can choose one of three options from panorama, carefour or sogo.

Apart from that I am very grateful to God for this year. I feel very blessed. One month before my birthday I've already got my present actually hehe.. the first one I was being double promoted, then got my performance bonus. The second one I passed the bloody CISA exam. During this time I think I can't ask for more, these two are already enough for me. Then yesterday got the third one hehe. And now somehow I began to worry, I remembered my first writing about "comfort vs growth". Wondering maybe I need to be aware of my life balance.. I've tried hard to maintain the work activities with my ministry in church. Hopefully I can maintain it well..

August 2006.

The same as last year, I spent most of my days in August at Chevron corporation, one of our firm audit client. I thought I have mentioned Chevron, which formerly named Caltex, is a oil mining company in Rumbai, Riau. The field work was enjoyable, all of my team member performed their work so efficient with a good quality of documentation. Two thumb up for all of you (Amel, Wisnu and Ferry). May be this year is the second year for all of us, we've already had the what in the firm we usually called "CAKE" about the client. This term is stand for cummulative auditing knowledge and experience. Moreover, from the client side, they also have improved a lot in term of how they control their business process, so most of their work have been documented properly. Hence, aside from work we still had time to having fun hehe.. hunting for durian, shopping in mals, watching movie and photo taking session. Please refer to pics below.. :)

I came back from Rumbai last week. What a shock when the first day I went to office at 5.40 am from home and arrive at Mampang at 6.20 am, but guess what I arrived at the office around 7.15 am. Had to spent around one hour to travel such 2-3 km distance.. The reason behind that is the government is building bus ways in all of the main streets in Jakarta. Mainly the purpose of the busway is to reduce traffic jam. Government is trying hard to improve the public transport, in order to persuade people to travel public transport, but I doubted it will succeed, let's hope.

Then I got another shocking news, my english instructor while I was preparing my EAP (english academic preparation) at IALF before departing to Australian commited a crime. He was arrested by Central Jakarta Police in the beginning of August. Actually this news has flown around in the alumni mailing list three weeks ago, but I never pay too much attention to this mailing list, and just known the new after a friend told me about this news. Just can't believed what I read in the news, I never thought this could happenned. He was such a respectable man, smart and I admited a bit sceptic, but unbelievable he could commit such crime - just don't want to mentioned what kind of crime. During my way home last night, I kept thinking life is always unpredictable, we can only see people's condition from the surface, but we never know what deep inside. People are correct, when they said the phrase, "don't judge the book by its cover".
